Die Menschen haben diese Wahrheit vergessen, sagte der Fuchs,
Aber du darfst sie nicht vergessen.
Du bist zeitlebens für das verantwortlich, was du dir vertraut gemacht hast...

About Aktion Kleiner Prinz

War is being waged in more than forty countries in the world. The media give us daily on-the-spot reports from war zones. Over ten million children suffer physically and mentally from the consequences of war. This incomprehensible number alone calls for our immediate action, our spontaneous help.
Against the background of the indescribable distress of the children in the Balkan war, and to break through one's own crippling helplessness, the "Aktion Kleiner Prinz" was founded in 1993 to give immediate international aid to children in need as victims of war, violence, persecution, and disaster. Irrespective of the nation, the religion, skin colour, or philosophy of life, we have offered since 1993, on a voluntary basis, practical and financial aid.
The charity Aktion Kleiner Prinz, International Help for Children in Need (registered charity) is a non-profit making organisation in Warendorf, near Münster, which looks after children in need all over the world. We work on a voluntary basis with administrative expenses which since the foundation are at an average of less than 5 %. We have been awarded the DZI donation seal.
We generally work together with reliable organisations and we regret that we are not able to help in individual cases of need.
Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's family supports our charity by authorising us to carry the 'Little Prince' ('Kleiner Prinz') in our name.
Since the foundation the number of members has increased up to more than 500.

What we do

Aktion Kleiner Prinz supports projects for children in need worldwide. We are strictly following our principles that aid is always for specific projects and that we have to be able to understand and monitor how financial aid is used.

Here are some examples of the emergency aid we are providing:
February 2016:
More and more refugees from Syrie and Iraq keep coming to Europe. It is an enormeous task and a challenge for all of us. Aktion Kleiner Prinz continues helping families in Germany as well as children in non governmental refugee camps in Turkey. We think it is better to help people there, in a country neighbouring their own, than force them to take enormous risks to come to Europe.

June 2015:
Since the disastrous earthquake which destroyed parts of Nepal on 25th April, we are helping affected families and children, in cooperation with Kinderhilfe Nepal e.V. We are also reconstructing schools and nurseries.
In April 2015, Aktion Kleiner Prinz spent 20.000 € for the victims of the snowslide in Afghanistan.

January 2015:
Giving help to refugees is becoming more and more important these days. As a consequence of the conflicts in Syria and Iraq, many people must leave their home countries. Some of them manage to come to Germany. Many oft them take shelter in Turkey. The refugee camps there are overcrowded. In December 2014, we have started relief actions in refugee camps near Mardin / Turkey. On the other hand, in order to help those who have come to Germany, we are supporting language courses and other integration and welcome actions.

July 2014:
In May 2014, Bosnia and Herzegovina were hit by severe floodings. Our Bosnian partner Bread of Life gave us a detailed report: First official numbers stated 40 deaths but the real number might be higher. 10.000 families in Bosnia have permanently lost their homes. Most devastation comes from landslides. 1 - 1,5 million residents of the country are directly hit by the flood.
Bread of life who works in Prijedor, told us that in Prijedor 5000 households had been hit by the flood. Around 50 people were evacuated immediately. Our partners in Banja Luka and Tuzla were giving similar reports.
